It was the most important piece of information that remained to be known and finally Techland, after postponing its launch on more than one occasion, has confirmed the release date of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the name that the game will finally receive, for the 7 December .
Although there are still a few months to go, at least we already know when exactly this long-awaited sequel will arrive, set 20 years after the events that took place in the first game . Our protagonist will be Aiden, who will have a deep story, like the rest of the characters, according to their creators.
But the highlight of the live show that Techland has aired has focused mainly on a new gameplay that we have been able to see of the game and its post-apocalyptic open world in which any decision we make will considerably affect the plot and the setting, to the point that it will arrive to change depending on our actions, which will force players to think twice about what to do.
The city where everything will take place is the last place in the world where there are humans left , but it is also inhabited by infected, who were formerly human too and now have become monsters. Some of them will give the impression of being zombies, but others have evolved and mutated into fearsome creatures of the most deadly.
Despite the fact that the infected pose a great threat, the rest of the civilians will not be trustworthy either, since we will find ourselves in a merciless city in which some actions believe they have power, establishing their own rules. Therefore, during the day we will have to deal with them, having to fight to the death sometimes with some who will become our adversaries.
Instead, when night falls it will be the moment when the infected will emerge from the shadows and the rules of the world will change completely. Whether it’s because of the atmosphere or the feeling of being surrounded by enemies on all sides, we will never feel completely safe. At least Aiden will have some fantastic parkour skills to get out of these situations and move freely anywhere.
Of course, when it comes to taking action, our protagonist will not fool around and based on melee blows, using weapons, pistols or explosives, he will be able to make anyone who tries to end his life bite the dust. Even so, we must remember that decisions matter in order to have more allies or cause some characters to turn their backs on us, but for this we will have to wait until the end of the year to get fully into the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
