Effect of the Good End? Retail sales recover pre-pandemic levels

In November 2021, the month of the Good End, retail sales recovered, as income from supplies and goods increased 0.9% at a monthly rate and 4.2% in its annual comparison; according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography.

With this variation, retail companies achieved a complete real recovery, compared to the pre-pandemic level (February 2020), Gabriela Siller Pagaza, director of Economic Analysis at Grupo Financiero BASE, indicated on Twitter.

“In retail commercial companies, when eliminating the seasonal factor, real income registered an annual increase of 4.2%, real average remuneration of 2.8% and total employed personnel fell 0.5% in November 2021 in relation to the same month. of 2020”, indicated the Inegi.

Sales grow exclusively through the internet

When observing the annual variation of retail sales by subsector of activity, during November 2021, the retailers of textiles, clothing and footwear had an increase in sales of 13%.

Sales of stationery, entertainment and other items for personal use grew 17.5% and those of household goods, computers, etc. had an increase of 10.6%.

In addition, sales exclusively through the Internet, and print catalogs, television and the like grew 8.9% compared to November 2020.

Wholesale sales also performed favorably, increasing 0.7% compared to October and 10.7% compared to November 2020.
