Elon Musk insults Senator for property tax demand

Elon Musk received more than just praise following his billion-dollar vote on Twitter. Musk reacts vulgarly to a demand from a senator.

Palo Alto – The Twitter billion game about Elon Musk goes into the next round. Musk is accused of reacting vulgarly to a senator who previously called for an income tax for billionaires to be introduced. The politician is Democrat Ron Wyden, who chairs the Senate Finance Committee.

Wyden responded with his tweet to a recent Twitter poll conducted by Elon Musk. Musk asked his followers (and Twitter too) if he should sell ten percent of his Tesla shares. Since share profits are not taxed in the US, Musk says he does not pay any significant taxes, as he, also by his own account, does not receive any bonuses or wages. 3,519,252 accounts took part in the vote, with a majority of 57.9 to 42.1 percent in favor of Musk’s idea.

The sale of ten percent of his Tesla shares would currently generate revenue of around 21 billion US dollars for Elon Musk, which would then be taxable. He had previously responded to a request from the head of Welthungerhilfe (WFP), David Beasley, who called for more financial commitment from the richest against hunger in the world. Specifically, Beasley cited the US $ 6 billion figure it took to prevent geopolitical instability, prevent mass migration and save 42 million people who are on the verge of starvation.

Elon Musk has once again caused a stir on Twitter.

Elon Musk: US Senator calls for wealth tax after a billion-dollar vote on Twitter

Elon Musk then agreed to raise the requested amount and made two demands: transparent accounting of what the money was used for and transparent information for the public. WTF boss David Beasley then invited Musk for a personal interview. There is now speculation as to whether Musk’s sudden willingness to turn a significant portion of his Tesla stock into cash is related to the previously signaled willingness to drive back global hunger.

Regardless of this fact, Senator Wyden wrote on Twitter: “Whether or not the richest man in the world pays taxes at all should not depend on the results of a Twitter poll.” He cited the discussion of the sale and the poll itself as evidence that he urgently needs his tax law to introduce a wealth tax, which he is promoting together with Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Elon Musk promises to sell Tesla shares and insults US Senator who wants wealth tax

Elon Musk responded irritably and asked Wyden on Twitter why he looked on his profile picture as if he had “just come”. The sexual innuendo is widely perceived as the billionaire’s vulgar attack on the politician. In general, Musk’s tweets keep causing a stir. Within a very short time, two public short messages from Elon Musk were enough to cause the price of the crypto currency Bitcoin to collapse and then soar again.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has objected to several of his tweets, which resulted in a settlement. This states that Musks must obtain the consent of the corporate lawyers of the billion-dollar company Tesla before he can publish his tweets. It is not yet known whether he did it in the Wyden case.
