Euro Cup: 60,000 fans will be able to watch the semi-finals and final at Wembley

The United Kingdom Government has taken the decision to increase Wembley’s capacity to 75% for the semi-finals and the final of the European Championship to be played at the legendary London stadium. Therefore, 60,000 spectators will be able to attend these three matches.

While the British government was receiving political pressure to rule out Wembley at the last minute to host the semi-finals and final of the European Championship, Boris Johnson has responded by sticking to his agreement with UEFA . In addition, the prime minister has made the decision to increase the capacity allowed in these parties.

Wembley will open at 75% of its capacity, which in numbers translates into 60,000 spectators who will have the privilege of entering to watch one of these matches. In this first round only some 22,500 people have been able to enter the stadium located in London and in the second round there will be 45,000 fans, but finally the news is even more positive because it has been decided that those 60,000 fans will enter.

Among the requirements of the 60,000 fans who want to go to see the semifinals or the final of Euro 2020 , they will have to show that they have received the two doses of the vaccine at least 14 days before the match or they also have the possibility of presenting a test negative antigen.

“More than 60,000 fans will now be able to attend the semi-finals and the final of the Eurocup at Wembley Stadium, ” the government wrote, after days of uncertainty because UEFA asked London to ease traffic restrictions due to COVID in order to the 2,500 VIPs expected in the final on July 11. “I am grateful to the Prime Minister and the British Government for their hard work to achieve this agreement with us to make the final of this tournament a great success at Wembley, ” UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin was quoted as saying in the statement.
