The presentation to the press of the first fully electric sports car from Porsche could not be anything. The Taycan required an event just as extraordinary as the model itself, which not only thrills in terms of technology and driving dynamics, but also arouses passion in all kinds of people. Thus, the roads of Sweden, Norway and Denmark had the honor of witnessing how the Taycan traveled its first kilometers through Europe.
During the first day, eighteen gleaming units of the Porsche electric sports car left Oslo at the beginning of a test day in full accord with the ambition and importance of the Taycan. In addition, the event was attended by Oliver Blume, President of the Porsche Board of Directors; and Michael Steiner, member of the Board of Directors responsible for Research and Development.
Once outside the city limits, the specialized journalists were able to test the sporty tuning of the model on some of the Norwegian roads, before facing a long journey to the border. The batteries were recharged during a 20-minute quick shutdown, with peak loads of up to 258 kW. From here, the cars moved to Gothenburg .
The next day, the Taycans traveled the distance from Gothenburg to Copenhagen, each car again receiving a 20-minute fast charge while the driver enjoyed a lunch provided by an assisting caravan. From there, they soon crossed the border into Denmark via the impressive Øresund Bridge, before reaching the streets of the Danish capital.
Mayk Wienkötter , spokesperson for Electric Mobility and the Taycan line, commented that “we have set out to demonstrate how the Taycan combines driving excitement and practicality in everyday use by taking a city-to-city trip across Europe. This is only possible due to its generous autonomy of up to 450 kilometers according to the WLTP homologation cycle and the efficient charging infrastructure that already exists ”. “It was a very successful event, both the cars and the charging infrastructure have made things very easy for us,” concluded Wienkötter.
