The airline Eurowings has come up with a fancy corona campaign: a vaccination on the plane, including check-in and security checks.
Frankfurt / Salzburg – In order to get as many people as possible to have the corona vaccination *, creative minds come up with all sorts of unusual concepts. And now the low-cost airline Eurowings, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, is organizing an extraordinary campaign in Salzburg that would certainly also fit in at Frankfurt Airport *: a vaccination on the plane.
And, according to Salzburg Airport, it should actually run like a flight on vacation: “Simply check in at the check-in for the ‘stitch in flight’, through a special counter at the security controls to the gate and then it’s just a few more steps into the Eurowings aircraft, ”said a press release.
Corona vaccination on the plane: Currently not planned at Frankfurt Airport
Before and after the vaccination, the “vaccination passengers” could still take a seat on the plane. A look into the cockpit is included, because a flight captain and his crew will endeavor to ensure the well-being of the guests on board. However, the Airbus machine will not take off.
According to Robert Jahn, CEO of Eurowings Europe, his airline is the “first airline in Europe” to transform a Eurowings Airbus into a vaccination station for one day. The promotion at Salzburg Airport will take place on Tuesday (November 9th, 2021).
Unfortunately, Eurowings is not yet organizing such a vaccination option at Frankfurt Airport, said a spokesman for the airline when asked: “No further campaigns are planned at the moment.
