Kassel / Wiesbaden – For large parts of Germany, anything but a summer start to August is predicted. Instead of the hottest days of the year, the so-called dog days, according to the meteorologists, bring more April weather: Rain showers, thick clouds, wind and thunderstorms, plus temperatures of around 20 degrees, could also hit Kassel * and northern Hesse.
The weather is completely different in other parts of Europe, where the air in the south of the Sahara continues to cause extreme heat: The meteorologist Dominik Jung stated the maximum values for Sicily and southern Italy, Greece and Turkey in his forecast from Friday (07/30/2021 ) 40 to 45 degrees in prospect: “The all-time record for Europe is 48.0 degrees. It was measured in Greece in 1977, ”says Jung. However, it is questionable whether the heat of the next few days could break this record. In Turkey, violent forest fires have raged in the region around Antalya since this week.

And even in the first week of August, the weather in Germany, according to the assessment of the specialist Jung, will be consistently changeable. Heavy rain could occur again in parts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Jung predicts more thunderstorms and heavy rain for the south of Germany for Friday afternoon and Saturday, in the north it will be partly stormy. The weather remains inconsistent on Sunday as well.
Meanwhile, the weather is also going crazy in the rest of the world. In parts of Canada and the USA, record temperatures of well over 40 degrees Celsius have been measured in the past few weeks, and in tropical South America, snow is now even falling at low altitudes. In the south of Brazil, according to weather expert Jung, the maximum temperature values are currently 15 to 20 degrees below the values otherwise measured during the time of year.
