Fiat 500X Docevita: passion for the sea

Driving a Fiat 500 is a lifestyle . It’s not just about getting from point A to point B, it’s about doing it with the class and style that has made history in Italy. The concept of the Dolce Vita is known, and envied throughout the old continent , so acquiring it to create versions of flawless beauty has been a masterpiece. The Italian firm is an expert in launching special editions of its models, especially the cinquecento. This motorsports icon has seen a busy couple of years, with its update and the introduction of the 100% electric option, the 500e, in addition to the 500X convertible with a retractable canvas roof.

The Fiat 500X presented in 2018, and updated in 2019, would be the crossover alternative to the mythical urban and low Cinquecento. Its aesthetics remained almost identical but the range of engines and technological equipment has improved with the Sport and Lounge levels in the offer. By placing it on the market, the 500X measures 4.25 meters long by 1.79 m wide and 1.59 m high , with a wheelbase of 2.57 meters. Its trunk, with a capacity of 350 liters , is in the middle of a segment in which we find alternatives such as the Hyundai Kona, Renault Captur or Peugeot 2008, among others. Its best argument lies in the design, which remains akin to the tradition of a car that presents itself.

The Dolcevita

When Fiat introduced the convertible variant with a retractable canvas roof, it managed to come up with a key slogan: it is a feature that no other rival offers . Driving under the open sky, in a crossover, is something unique and special. A singularity that the Italian firm always tries to capture in this 500X, launched in the special launch series Yacht Club Capri and Docevita Launch Edition . The first, which sports a blue body color, is inspired by the luxury of yachts. The latter, as its name suggests, is carried away by the spirit of the Italian Dolce Vita.

The Spanish market has responded pleasantly to both editions, so the brand has wanted to incorporate this convertible variant also for the Connect and Sport finishes . The Connect finish focuses on meeting the requirements of the most connected customers, with a 7-inch central screen with Uconnect system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto . The Sport option, on the other hand, fits with the most classic of the automotive industry, those who enjoy 18-inch wheels in black , rear spoiler and seats upholstered in black with the 500 logo embroidered in red.

Open sky

This one-button retractable roof opens to 100 km / h in just 15 seconds , leaving the luggage compartment load capacity intact. This tarp is available in black or red, ideal to match the 500X’s 10 body tones. The Yacht Club Capri variant, inspired by the blue tone of the sea , was developed jointly with the most exclusive Yacht Clubs in the neighboring country.

The hood, in this case, is blue, with a lateral line that falls on the waist of the 500X and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the purity of the Soft Touch seats stands out in a white tone , a color used repeatedly in nautical and that invites elegance. The dashboard, finished in wood, reminds us even more of luxury yachts.
