At the Cannes Film Festival, actress Dylan Penn presented her film, which she made with her father. That was probably not always that easy, it also “cracked”, she says.
Cannes – Filming with her father Sean Penn was an exciting experience for actress Dylan Penn. “We had our ups and downs,” said the 30-year-old on Sunday at the Cannes Festival, where she presented the drama “Flag Day”.
The film was directed by Sean Penn and in front of the camera alongside his daughter. "He was my boss, but also my father," said Dylan Penn about the collaboration, it had "crashed" before. Ultimately, however, "everything went very well".
Dylan Penn is the daughter of Sean Penn and the Golden Globe winner Robin Wright. In "Flag Day" she plays the daughter of an unreliable father, played by two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn ("Mystic River" and "Milk"). Their relationship in the film is strained and difficult – but neither can they without each other.
The drama, which is based on real events, is in competition at the Cannes International Film Festival, competing for the main prizes. dpa
