Update from November 30, 2:47 p.m .: Winter road conditions have caused numerous accidents in Baden-Württemberg. Several children were slightly injured in the accident of a school bus in Biberach an der Riss (Baden-Württemberg) on Tuesday.
School bus overturns: Several children are slightly injured
A police spokesman said the bus came off the lane on a county road in the afternoon and overturned. The exact number of injuries is just as unclear as the cause of the accident. However, there were initially no reports of seriously injured persons. Because of the initially unclear situation, two rescue helicopters were in use, said the police spokesman. The accident record continues, the district road 7505 is therefore closed.
Weather in Germany: Snow storm in the Ore Mountains

According to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Tuesday, “partly striking snowfalls with drifts” can be expected. It is currently snowing, especially in southern Germany and towards the Oder – from an altitude of 200 to 300 meters. In many places there are stiff, stormy gusts or gusts of wind in some areas, and sometimes heavy gusts of wind in the high areas, which are supposed to decrease temporarily at night. The storm low leads to a warm front. That means: the snow line continues to rise up to 1,000 meters.
Heavy snowfall is to be expected in the Thuringian Forest; in congestion with up to 20 centimeters of fresh snow. Twitter users in Thuringia report “from a wild snowstorm”. The German Weather Service (DWD) is currently warning of heavy gusts of wind and, in the low mountain ranges, of sometimes heavy snowfalls * with drifts. First of all, snowfall is to be expected above 300 meters. Up to 15 centimeters can fall from the sky. In the Black Forest, Thuringian and Bavarian Forests, there are sometimes over 20 centimeters of fresh snow in it.
Heavy squalls in the Alps – hurricane gusts on the Brocken
Warnings of striking weather (level 2) are mainly in the south. On the Brocken and Fichtelberg on Tuesday, the DWD expects storms – with hurricane gusts * (110 km / h), in the Alps and in the western part of the Alpine foothills even with heavy gusts of wind (90 km / h). Warnings are also issued on the coasts.

Offenbach – Snow and ice have turned roads into icy slides. There were some seriously injured. “It crashes all the time,” reported the police in the Märkischer Kreis via Twitter. In the Sauerland it started with the onset of snowfall on Monday morning. By noon, the emergency services had already counted 50 “weather-related accidents”.
A 23-year-old car driver from Lüdinghausen (North Rhine-Westphalia) “slid” her car into the ditch. The car came to a vertical stop. The police published a photo of this unusual accident. In a right turn, the young woman went off the lane at around 7:20 a.m. An ambulance took the 23-year-old to the hospital.
Snow! Winter weather causes accidents in the south
In Bavaria, too, the police reported numerous accidents on Monday evening and Tuesday night. Several people were injured in Selb on the Czech border. According to police, a woman skidded her vehicle on Monday and slipped into oncoming traffic. There the car crashed into an oncoming car. The woman was seriously injured. A person in the other vehicle was seriously injured. Three other inmates suffered minor injuries.
Weather in Germany: public bus slips off the road
In Heidelberg, a bus slipped off a slippery road and had to be recovered. As a police spokesman announced on Tuesday, the bus was stuck in the ground next to the road on Monday. However, there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident; the driver was unharmed. The road had to be completely closed for around two hours.
