The safety of cyclists on roads and urban environments continues to be a pending issue for those responsible for road safety. Poor visibility and poor indication at intersections by the cyclist are often the main reasons for accidents .
That is why the Australian start-up, led by a cyclist of the stature of Mark Waldron , presents us with gloves that incorporate the latest motion detection technology to aspire to become a world benchmark in cyclist visibility and safety.
Developed by and for bicycle users, the beSEENS , which is how the gloves are called, incorporate seven small but powerful LED lights arranged in the shape of an arrowhead on their back that are visible from 30 meters at night and 100 meters per day.
The LEDs are activated thanks to a built-in motion sensor, which prevents the cyclist from having to neglect driving to operate the device. The battery that supplies them with energy is long-lasting – up to seven hours of continuous use – and is recharged through a USB connection . Users will also be able to configure the glove so that the lights remain on constantly, to act as well as a running light.
The modules that incorporate the LED lights are completely removable for, on the one hand, their easy recharging and, on the other, for washing the gloves without the risk of deteriorating their technological components. Speaking of water, it must be added that these modules are 100% resistant to water in case of rain.
They will be available in two styles (urban and sport) and in various colors and sizes. Currently, its designers are raising funds through Kickstarter to make their series production viable.
