Google engineers have created Google PowerMeter , a software that allows us to know how much electricity we consume and with what devices, so that we can use that information to save energy and money . Russ Mirov, its creator, says that by using it he has managed to save $ 3,000 in the last year.
At the moment the tool is only available in the United States, Great Britain and Germany. Its use is free, although it requires having smart metering devices that send data on energy consumption to the router wirelessly. Google is reaching agreements with electricity suppliers in different countries to develop these gadgets .
