Lewis Hamilton will start last in the sprint race of the Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix, after the stewards' decision to disqualify him from the qualifying session due to technical irregularities in his Mercedes. Hamilton sees his options to add something positive in the new format that will be held this Saturday in the run-up to the race in Interlagos, while his great rival for the World Cup, Max Verstappen , takes a fine of 50,000 euros for touching the car from Hamilton in the Parc Fermé.
A day after the irregularities in the seven-time world champion's car became known, the announcement of the disqualification came, so the conquest of a new champion's winding is very uphill for Lewis. The Mercedes had achieved the first position for the sprint this Saturday, but an infraction in his DRS leaves him composed and without a privileged position.
This is not the first sanction for Hamilton , who drags one of five places on the grid of the great race, that of Sunday, for an engine change. Therefore, Lewis will have to start his comeback in the sprint with the maximum difficulty given to his position so as not to leave all the work for Sunday's race in Sao Paulo.
Max Verstappen , for his part, ascends to first place at the start of the sprint this afternoon, but he also met a sanction this Saturday, of 50,000 euros, for touching the wing of his maximum rival, although this does not carry suspension positions in form sports punishment.
