Henry Cavill will be one of the "new" immortals

If the 80s brought us anything, it was mythical movies that have remained in the pop culture of moviegoers for an entire generation. Los immortals is one of them and of course, Hollywood is already preparing its remake. Little is known of the production other than the direction of the project, led by Chad Stahelski (John Wick) and the first star to appear as one of the protagonists, Henry Cavill. The 1986 film told the story of an immortal Scottish swordsman named Connor Macleod who was born in the 15th century and who must fight other immortals to defeat the villain in question, Kurgan. Whoever destroys it will absorb all the accumulated powers of the entire race of immortals that have existed throughout history. In the original story written by Gregory Widen the protagonists were Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown. Stahelski has been developing this new version since 2016, Kerry Williamson is the new screenwriter who is finishing the script in recent weeks, in production Josh Davis and H Moritz will be the producers of the film. The producer of the original film, Peter Davis was collaborating on this remake until his death last February of this year. The immortals became a very lucrative franchise for 20th century Fox, to the point of generating 4 sequels, a web series, comic books and three television series. At the critical level, everything that happened after the first story was not received with excessive enthusiasm, as can be seen in the analysis of franchises on the Metacritic website, which places it as the worst saga. Will the remake manage to bring The Immortals back into fashion? The confirmation of CavillDeadline pointed to the rumors of the participation of Henry Cavill, and the actor himself confirmed it via Instagram. “I was a fan of The Immortals since I was a child. It is an incredible opportunity “, said Cavill while joking with his experience inherited from The Witcher series being already a skilled swordsman.” Deepening the storytelling of franchises with all the tools at our disposal, will make this an adventure that never I’ll forget ”, the former Superman concluded.
