How to get to the Animal Adventure park
The first step to visiting April is to arrive at Animal Adventure Park, located in Harpursville, New York, about 15 minutes down I-88 from Binghamton, and about two hours from New York’s state capital, Albany. If you are coming from outside of New York, your best option is to fly here or to New York City, then rent a car and drive to Harpursville. Currently, public buses do not go to Harpursville, only to Binghamton.
No matter how you plan to visit Animal Adventure Park, don’t go and book your tickets just yet. Animal Adventure Park doesn’t open during the year until May 13, so if you show up earlier, you will be disappointed. Ironically, trying to visit April the Giraffe during the month of April is not a very good idea!
Upcoming Giraffe-Related Events in the Park
The $ 12.99 adult admission fee (for seniors is $ 11.99, while children ages 3-11 are $ 10.99) includes access to all the animals at Animal Adventure Park, which includes not only giraffes but also camels , monkeys and birds. However, to maximize your chances of interacting with April (and other giraffes), you can time your visit to coincide with one of the park’s upcoming giraffe-related events.
