The corona loosening that has been decided also means the end of the home office obligation in Germany: what should change and when.
Frankfurt/Berlin – The federal and state governments decided on extensive easing at the Corona summit on Wednesday. In a three-stage plan, numerous measures in Germany are to be dropped, for example the contact restrictions for vaccinated people or the 2G regulation in retail.
Part of the third stage of the easing plan is, among other things, that the home office obligation for employees no longer applies. The deadline is March 20th, which is already considered “Freedom Day” in Germany. According to the summit decision, from this date employers should no longer be obliged to enable their employees to work from home.
Corona summit: Home office obligation ends
The decision paper of the Corona summit states that the implementation will probably be completed at the end of March. However, the condition for this is that the pandemic situation allows it.
Home office in the corona pandemic
In the home office caused by the pandemic, employees had to quickly set up a workplace in their own four walls. Any purchases are tax deductible.
Conversely, however, this does not necessarily mean that employers will not be allowed to allow home office as a working model in the future. Numerous companies are planning to introduce this as part of a new working environment. (tu/dpa)
