The first heat wave of the summer has already reached Spain. Temperatures in many parts of our country will exceed 45 degrees in the shade, so the house and air conditioning will be one of the most demanded allies in the coming days.
But not everyone has air conditioning at home, so the heat in many cases, and in the peak hours, can be suffocating. Even if we don’t have air conditioning, we can always turn to fans or carry out some tricks to keep our house as cool as possible.
Create streams
A very simple way that our house stays a bit colder and we can cope with the heat of these days, is to play with the air currents. If we open the windows and doors so that the air flows and runs through our house, the heat will be present, but the breeze will make the air move and therefore the home is somewhat cooler.
Close blinds
It is necessary to avoid that the sun enters the house, and with it also the light. Lower all the blinds and draw the curtains so that the minimum sun enters our house, especially in the hottest hours. We will notice that the house has a bearable temperature.
Find sleeping areas
In most homes there are usually places where it is hotter than in others. For example, avoid rooms where the sun is more direct, or if we have several plants, remember that the plants below will always be the coolest. If we have a basement, it can be the ideal place to sleep.
Do not use the oven
The oven is one of those appliances that are basic in any kitchen. But it is also one of those appliances that heat our house the most. As far as possible we should avoid using the oven to eat, since, if so, the house will notice a rise in temperature.
Cools clothes
It may seem crazy, but the reality is that if it is very hot, it is not silly to put underwear or even sheets in the refrigerator so that they take a coolness that will later help us to have a better rest.
Fan with ice
It is the most homemade way of making an air conditioner. We put a container with ice cubes in front of the fan and that coolness spreads throughout the room.
