How to properly open a computer

A computer case protects all components from damage, while managing airflow to keep it ventilated. So by opening the case you can remove excess dust from your computer and replace (or even install) new components. To do this, you will have to open the case correctly, avoiding forcing it or hitting it. In addition, you will be able to access more components on a desktop computer, since laptops only allow access to the RAM and the hard disk.

Steps to open a desktop computer

First, you will have to gather all the tools. In most cases, you will only need a screwdriver to remove the tortillos. You will also need to shut down your computer using the shutdown function of the operating system.

Next, you will need to unplug all the cables from the back of the computer. Also, if you think that you will not be able to remember where the cables go when you have to plug it back in, it is best to take a picture first.

After this step, you will need to identify the input and output panel of the motherboard. This is located on the back of the computer and has a variety of connectors, including Ethernet, speakers, or USB. Next, you will need to place the box on your work surface with the entry and exit panel as close together as possible. This will allow you to remove the correct panel and access the internal components.

When you’ve done these steps, you should remove the screws at the rear of the tower. This will allow you to access the side panel. They usually have thumb screws, although it depends on the manufacturer. Next, you will have to ground yourself before touching any component, as electrostatic discharges could cause significant damage to your computer.

Finally, you can now clean the computer while it is open. Computers collect dust quickly, and this can cause overheating, poor performance, and hardware failure. Remember that you must remove it frequently!

Steps to open a laptop

As with the desktop computer, you will first need to gather all the materials . Laptops use much smaller tortillos, so you will need a specific screwdriver for these types of screws. Also, you may want to buy a compressed air spray to clean the inside of your laptop.

Afterwards, you will have to turn off the laptop and unplug all the connected cables. This includes the power adapter and any USB devices. When you have completed these steps, you will need to turn the laptop over and remove the battery. This will prevent your computer from accidentally turning on while you are cleaning it or installing a component.

Finally, you will have to remove the screws from the panels you want to open. You can have one or more panels in which the replaceable components are located. However, most laptops only allow access to the hard drive bay and RAM. You can now clean your laptop
