Huber's Farm in Starlight, Indiana

Huber’s Farm in Starlight, Indiana is a great place to spend some quality family time, especially with its Children’s Farm Park and Petting Zoo as the central activity. Children will love feeding the animals, and there is plenty for adults and older children too. (A bonus for parents: going to the petting zoo is a good excuse to buy a bottle of wine from the Huber winery.)

Where is Huber’s Farm Starlight located?

Starlight, Indiana is approximately 45 minutes to an hour outside of Louisville. Exiting is not so bad, although some of the roads are narrow and with many curves. However, the path to Huber’s from the main road is very well signposted, so even though it’s in the middle of nowhere, it’s hard to get lost trying to get there.

Move around the farm

There are two different sections of Joe Huber’s farm: the farm and the restaurant and the orchard and the winery. Huber’s Farm and Restaurant is the first part you will come across, and you have to pass that to get to the orchard, the winery, and the petting zoo.

Things to remember

The children’s farm park and zoo farm at Huber’s farm are open from 1 May to 31 October. The area is uncovered so be sure to pack sunscreen for those extra sunny days. Children’s Farm Park also only accepts cash, so you’ll want to make sure you stop by an ATM on the way so you don’t have to worry about being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a useless debit card. General admission to the park is $ 5, although some activities have additional costs. Remember to bring rooms so you can buy food for the animals.

Popular features of the children’s farm

  • Petting Zoo : Huber’s Farm has over 100 animals that you can pet and feed at its zoo, including rabbits, deer, goats, geese, cows, peacocks, and alpacas.
  • Jumping Pillow : Kids of all ages love to jump on the 50 x 70 foot pillow trampoline.
  • Ice Cream Shop : The ice cream shop is around the corner from Children’s Farm Park, but it’s a great place to grab a snack after a few hours at the petting zoo.
