Iberostar Cozumel

The Iberostar Cozumel is located on the southwest coast of the island of Cozumel, Mexico, approximately 20 minutes from the Cozumel airport. This all-inclusive resort is popular with couples looking for a romantic getaway, as well as families looking for a vacation spot to enjoy diving and snorkelling adventures. Iberostar Cozumel offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and is more relaxed than other Iberostar resorts in the Riviera Maya.

Iberostar Cozumel plots

The resort grounds are lush, with paths winding between brightly colored bungalows and abundant tropical vegetation. As you walk through the complex you will meet animals such as flamingos, peacocks and iguanas. The complex is designed to complement its natural tropical environment: buildings, pools and trails are surrounded by lush vegetation. The Iberostar Cozumel has obtained the Green Globe certification, evidence of the complex’s commitment to sustainability.

Dining at Iberostar Cozumel

Dining options at the complex include two a la carte restaurants, an international buffet, and a snack bar. A la carte restaurants require reservations and have a dress code: men must wear long pants. The Mexican restaurant, El Sarape, offers authentic Mexican food, and the steakhouse, El Cedral, offers a variety of savory meats in a grill setting. Another option is the Star Rock Cafe, which offers snacks in the evening and later (from 11 pm to 2 am) it turns into a disco.

Activities at the Iberostar Cozumel

  • Diving, Snorkeling and Water Sports: The Iberostar Cozumel is located on the shores of the Cozumel National Marine Park, between the Palancar and Santa Rosa Wall reefs, making it an excellent location for divers and snorkelers. You can also choose from a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, and kayaking, which are included in the all-inclusive plan.
  • Spa Treatments – The hotel’s spa offers a variety of services including massages, facials, and beauty treatments. Outdoor hot tubs are available in the spa, free of charge, but reservations are required.
  • Kids Club : Kids are kept busy in the kids’ club with scheduled activities, their own pool, playground, and a mini-disco in the early afternoon.
  • Day trip to Playa del Carmen: Iberostar Cozumel guests can enjoy the facilities of the Iberostar Tucan and Iberostar Quetzal in Playa del Carmen during the day (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) without paying for a day pass (transportation not included).

Rooms at the Iberostar Cozumel

The property has 300 standard rooms, four junior suites, and two presidential suites. All rooms offer air conditioning, ceiling fan, hairdryer, telephone, TV, stocked minibar and safe, as well as a private terrace or balcony with hammock. The standard rooms are small, but perfectly adequate, with two double beds or one king-size bed. Junior suites are on the second floor, enjoy beautiful ocean views and have a comfortable living room. The spacious presidential suite is located on the first floor and has a private pool.

Iberostar Cozumel Beach and Pools

The Iberostar Cozumel has a 170-meter beach with white sand and plenty of beach chairs for lounging. If you want to go swimming, it is best to bring water shoes or enter the water from the pier, as the coast is rocky. The complex’s large free-form pool is divided into three sections, with a main area, activity area, and children’s area, as well as a swim-up bar.

The bottom line

The Iberostar Cozumel is a great option for people looking for a relaxing and laid-back getaway in an all-inclusive resort with easy access to all the great water sports the island has to offer.
