Paraphrasing the lyrics of a song that says that "there are three things in life, health, money and love"; in the world of technology, there are three fairs in life, or in the year, rather: CES in Las Vegas , in January, Mobile World Congress, in February, and IFA in Berlin, in the first days of September.
I only had a few hours to take a look at the immense show at the IFA in Berlin, where the largest and smallest shows their jewels in consumer electronics for all sectors. A lot of digital and smart home, with all kinds of appliances with artificial intelligence (AI) for the home, and little personal and social robotics, which was one of the great absent.
Although it was not all that glittered, at least we were able to bring to this gallery some of the innovations present at the Berlin fair. What is more than a meridian is that everything that does not have AI will have no meaning in that connected home in which every 'junk', device or appliance will have an intelligent connection to be more efficient and productive and improve life of the people in the home.
On the next occasion, because I do not want to make exceptions in this gallery, I want to bring to this blog the 8K ultra high definition Smart TVs that we already saw at CES and that have increased in offer at this IFA. Although there is no content in 8K, there are few still in 4K, manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL, Phillips … have presented their proposals, with different techniques and artificial intelligence to raise the definition of the images until reaching that quality 8K fiancée. That is, with screens that exceed 80 inches and at prices only suitable for the rich.
