We all have friends, family or acquaintances to gather birthdays during all the months of the year, but in which month are more birthdays celebrated in Spain? According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), September is the month in which more people have been born in Spain in recent years.
This has not always been the case, since looking at the records we see that before the 90s, other months were the ones that had the most birthday records. The reason? There is no science to explain it, but the Christmas holidays, the cold of winter , which makes us be more at home, could be behind the fact that at 9 months, in the month of September, there are more birthdays than in any other time of the year.
September, the month with the most birthdays
The statistical data of the INE are clear. Since the 1990s, September has been the month with the most births registered in our country in each following decade.
Before, since there are records, the months have varied. According to the data that the INE has, before the year 1929 , the month of December was when the most birthdays were celebrated.
As of this decade, in the 30s, February was the most propitious for births, moving to March in the 40s; February in the 1950s; September in the 60s; and May in the 70s and 80s.
As we say, there may be many reasons for this, but we could say that the Christmas season, between December and January , are times to be with the family, where people go out less because of the cold and where love sprouts in our country in every corner.
The days with the most births
Although September is the month with the most births and where the most birthdays are celebrated in Spain, according to the INE, the day where the most people were born in our country is none other than January 1. Since there are records, 123,233 people have been born that day, being curious that the largest number of births in our country have been concentrated on New Year’s Day.
This same record tells us that September 24 is the day with the most births this month, with 117,376 people, ranking among the first seven days with the most births in Spain.
