After thick fog in the morning, a lot of sun is expected in southern and central Germany on Saturday. But what is the forecast for the north and for Sunday?
Offenbach – At the weekend, late summer shows what it’s made of, at least in some areas. Despite some precipitation and fog, it remains quite warm, as Julia Fruntke from the German Weather Service (DWD) said in Offenbach on Friday.
On Saturday only tough fog fields hold, especially in river valleys. When these have dissolved, the sun shines often and long in the middle and south, according to the DWD. “An increasingly humid but warm air mass comes to us from the southwest,” explained Fruntke. In these regions, the temperatures rise to a late summer 23 to 26 degrees: “The Indian summer sends its regards.” In the north, however, there are still thick clouds.
On Sunday morning, shower-like rain spilled over from France to Germany. “The danger of heavy rain increases locally and increases in the afternoon,” said Fruntke. “Now, in turn, the residents in the north and east of the country are initially spared the weather and can enjoy Sunday with lots of sunshine and late summer temperatures.”
Only in the next week will the precipitation also hit the middle and later the eastern half of Germany. They could then leave for Poland by Tuesday noon. The temperature level remains at the beginning of the week, “only in the course of the week will the 20-degree mark just undercut,” said the DWD meteorologist. dpa
