Invex teams up with Real Madrid and they launch a digital card

Invex wants to give a 100% digital credit card to Real Madrid fans in Mexico. The bank launched, with the help of Mastercard, a credit card that is requested from a mobile app and that allows access to promotions and discounts.

“With this great hobby and the quality of the product, we expect more than 50,000 users. What makes (this card) different is that you turn it on and off whenever you want, you can set alerts and put months without interest ”, highlighted Jean Marc Mercier, CEO of Invex.

The card is available from March 2 and has two versions: the Plus with an annuity of 1,700 pesos and the Silver with an annuity of 3,500 pesos.

Mercier added that among the benefits that cardholders will have are: the sending of the physical card with contactless technology, acceptance in electronic commerce, promotions in official soccer team stores, promotions on pay television as well as an annual raffle to attend a tournament.

According to information from Mastercard, in Mexico there is a trend of greater penetration of contactless payment technology, which arrived in 2018 with a market share of just 8% and closed 2020 with 50% of the total terminals reported by the acquirers.

Regarding the outlook for the following months for the Mexican economy and expectations regarding the placement of credit cards, Mercier said that although they saw a drop in April, May and June, they remain positive for the following months.

“We have an expectation in 2021 both for the market and for the products that have adapted to this new reality. The country’s outlook must be viewed conservatively but I think we must be optimistic: we must bet on the country, on the market. And doing it conservatively does not mean that there are no opportunities to grow, “he said.
