Well, it seems that it is, according to an investigation by the Dutch university of Groningen carried out with eleven men and thirteen women. Its authors found that those who did not remove their socks during intercourse reached orgasm 80% of the time , while those who wore bare feet climaxed only in half of the relationships.
Neuroscientist Gert Holstege explained this striking effect by a mixture of physical and psychological factors. On the one hand, the regulation of body temperature is very important in erotic relationships . Feeling that the body responds is necessary to focus on pleasure . And the feet, due to their remoteness from the brain "thermostats", are the ones that suffer the most when it is cold. Wearing socks allows you to keep the temperature better regulated.
On the other hand, psychological factors play in favor of the people who wear them, because being able to wear them during sex is a sign of confidence , always according to Holstege. Relationships that require maintaining the "posture" and projecting a certain aesthetic image are usually more tense and make it more difficult for those involved to let themselves be carried away by pleasure.
However, in relaxed sex, when you are confident enough to focus on your own needs – and keeping your feet warm is certainly one of them – you are more likely to climax . Hence the curious relationship between orgasm and socks.
