The third generation of the Kia e-Soul , thanks to its recent electrification, joins the growing range of hybrid, plug-in hybrids and electric models of the Korean brand. With this new proposal, Kia manages to bring urban crossovers closer to zero emissions propulsion, since more and more models are joining this idea. In addition, the new e-Soul now features a new generation of batteries that are more energy efficient than the current electric model, the Soul EV.
And it is that at the moment, the sector of the automobile is undergoing a true transition towards this type of alternative propulsions . Although changes always cost, the truth is that we increasingly see more hybrid or electric cars on our roads thanks, in large part, to the commitment of manufacturers to offer electric motors. And Kia, specifically, is one of the brands that has evolved the most in this regard in recent years.
In this sense, Emilio Herrera, Operations Director of Kia Motors Europe, points out that “from the beginning, the Soul has been a true pioneer for Kia and for an expanding market. A decade ago, it joined the urban crossover segment, and when we launched the Soul EV, it became the first all-electric crossover. ” “The new e-Soul broke new ground when we launched it in Europe, with its long range electric propulsion as standard, without the option of an internal combustion engine,” he adds.
Likewise, the e-Soul has adopted the iconic exterior and interior design and the carefree character of its predecessors, maintaining the strengths that have characterized previous generations of the model, such as an outstanding value for money, a spacious interior for five occupants, and high levels of space and versatility.
The new e-Soul, which will be sold in Europe as standard with Kia’s seven-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty – which also covers the electric motor and battery – will go on sale towards the end of the second quarter of this year 2019.
