The fact that there are video games that contain online functions has its negative part and it is the fact that sometimes they end up losing them due to the closure of the servers. We lived through that moment a few weeks ago when Ubisoft made this decision with 20 of its titles, and now it is the turn of two of the great works of Guerrilla Games .
Thus he has communicated that the servers of ‘Killzone 2’ and ‘Killzone 3’ will close their doors , but you still have enough time ahead to continue enjoying these options, because the decision will not be applied definitively until March 29, 2018 .

That same day it will be impossible to access the online multiplayer mode or any other function that requires an online connection . Guerrilla wanted to explain the reason in the following statement:
On March 29, 2018, after more than six years of operations and countless battles between ISA and the Helghast, the online servers for ‘Killzone 2’ and ‘Killzone 3’ will be decommissioned. The single player campaign in both games will remain accessible, but the online portion and all related features will no longer work.
As we approach the end of the online lifecycle for ‘Killzone 2’ and ‘Killzone 3’ we would like to express our appreciation for all the support we have received from the community over the last eight years. Your enthusiasm is what has led us to grow as a studio. We hope you’ve enjoyed ‘Killzone 2’ and ‘Killzone 3’ online as much as we did creating them.
‘Killzone 2’ was released exclusively for PlayStation 3 in early 2009 , while ‘Killzone 3’ came two years later , also for PS3, so you still have a few months to play them thoroughly.
