First launched in the early 1980s as a men’s-only concept store on the Champs-Elysees, L’Eclaireur now has multiple locations in the city – an expansion that reflects its solid success with fashionistas. And– shhh… it’s mainly for the elegant men who fall into that category.

The brainchild of fashionista couple Martine and Armand Hadida, L’Eclaireur is as well known for its prestigious setting as it is for its high-end merchandise. One of the boutiques is located in the former stables of a private mansion, in a perfectly hidden location near the square known as the Place des Victoires.
While L’Eclaireur specializes in men’s creations, some venues also carry women’s clothing, as well as luxury home goods, bags and accessories, and art objects.
Another location has a restaurant. The experience there is reportedly so minimal and artistic, you’ll think you’re in a socialite gallery opening somewhere. In short, if you are looking for a shopping trip that plunges you into the heart of BCBG Paris (“genre bon chic bon”, which means “elegant” in French), I highly recommend stopping by one of these coveted boutiques. In addition to the flagship of Men on the Champs, there is also a location in the trendy Marais district closer to the city center, located at 29 bis Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, in the 4th arrondissement; as well as one at 29, rue de Sévigné, in the 3rd arrondissement.

Designers and featured articles
At its many city locations, L’Eclaireur offers a wide range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and haute-couture (high-end designer) lines from top designers, including Alexander McQueen, Azzarro, Emilio Pucci, Oscar de la Renta and other well-known names. It’s also a hotspot for up-and-coming global designers, so if you’re interested in discovering new talent, this is certainly a store where you can make more ‘personal’ finds.
In addition to clothing, the Rue de Sevigné boutique offers items such as designer bags, specialized books and magazines, perfumery, furniture and designer items, and even glasses.
