San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico and possibly the Caribbean. There are dozens of hotels and resorts here, but there are also hotels in the Rio Grande area to the east, on the west coast (including the surfer's paradise of Rincón), and around the city of Ponce to the south. The island of Vieques is an emerging tourist destination, and there are even some hotels in little Culebra.
