Marvel seeks a black director for Blade reboot

Marvel has a whole series of projects started, others finished and some about to begin. It is not that the house of ideas does not want to accelerate productions that have been stagnant for some time, but that Kevin Feige takes very seriously the phases and cycles of films that play in each moment within the marvelita universe. The close releases will be The Eternal and Shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings. Then would come the fourth installment of Thor, the new Spiderman, Doctor Strange … let’s see that Marvel is not going to run out of movies nor does it seem that it is going to miss any of the deadlines they have in mind. One of the most talked about heroes is Blade, who will be played by the Oscar winner twice, Marshala Ali and for whom Marvel is looking for a director, the fact is that it seems somewhat complicated (although for Marvel everything it is possible) to introduce the vampire hunter character in the MCU. It is one thing to have Blade with his independent film full of vampires and quite another, to take the bloodsucker to share the world with characters like the Hulk, Antman or the Scarlet Witch. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why the start of production was delayed in its September day until July 2022. The story of this reboot based on the characters created by Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman will be written by Stacy Osei-Kuffour , who already participated in the script of several chapters of the Watchmen and Hunters series. The only other actor in the cast who appears to be confirmed is John West Jr., who will play DEE. Above all, what Marvel may have the most pending is the search for a director to lead the project.Lately the creator of heroes is being certainly daring choosing her directors, Chloé Zhao for Eternals or Nia DaCosta for The Marvels. According to an article by The Hollywood reporter, Marvel is looking for a black director for the film, as he would be reviewing a list of names similar to the one Warner Bros is using to decide who will direct the Superman reboot, where Ta-Nehisi Coates will write the script and the new hero of Metropolis will supposedly be black.
