The Mazda CX-30 was launched in 2019 as an intermediate model between the CX-3 and the CX-5, measuring 4.39 meters long by 1.79 wide and 1.54 high. His battle, of 2.65 meters, is in the average of a segment of the most competitive. The CX-30 can be the rival of models like the Jeep Compass, the Kia Niro, the Seat Ateca or the Subaru XV. All of them fall within the C-SUV, a market that seems to have no end. Its silhouette makes it stand out in the design aspect but, otherwise, it is a model that is fulfilled like the rest with a similar habitability and a fairly broad motor proposal. Of course, none of its rivals offers a block as special as the Skyactiv-X, a gasoline engine that works by compression (as a diesel would do) . In addition, since February, the firm has incorporated the Smart Cargo Board trunk organization system into the CX-30, available in all finishes except the Origin versions.
This system consists of a tabletop that can be positioned in various ways to create different cargo spaces. In this way, you will be able to distribute the luggage and bags according to your needs. The use is very simple. The boot floor has three divisions, which can be folded one on top of the other or in a way that divides areas by leaving it positioned vertically. Thanks to this simple solution, the customer will be able to resort to different configurations: a low loading platform, two levels of floor loading and a completely flat load.
Make the most of the boot
The Mazda CX-30 offers 430 liters of trunk capacity , a space that is within the correct average for the compact SUV segment. If we fold down the seats in the rear row, we expand this space to 1,406 liters of capacity . This margin, together with the Smart Cargo Board, allows us to play with dozens of configurations. In addition, by creating a more closed gap (between the floor and the double bottom), luggage or loose objects will be fixed and without going round the boot floor. As can be seen in the video, we can travel with bottles without suffering from their condition or carry the baby’s stroller without it hitting the sides.
Another of the most interesting configurations is the completely flat floor. By folding down the rear seats, leaving the tray inside the trunk and placing the Smart Cargo Board on top, we will achieve a completely flat surface of the ideal length to visit the Ikea. All this without losing space for the anti-puncture kit , which is placed under the double bottom. If not needed, the Smart Cargo Board can be stored vertically to the side of the trunk and the removable lid is housed in the space under the floor.
This system is available as standard for all Mazda CX-30s that have been purchased since February 2020, as long as they are not the Origin version. If you have an older model, you can get it as an accessory at Mazda dealers.
