One of the least used aspects of the Wii virtual console is undoubtedly the online mode. The conversions we see are pixel perfect , without any kind of special addition taking advantage of new technologies. If we want to play with more people we have to resort to the local multiplayer mode, when an older option could have been perfectly created to do so over the network of networks. We have it in emulators, via Kaillera, for example, and it’s going really well. Does it cost so much to implement it on this console? That seems considering the scant, if not null, catalog that makes use of it. The first one we saw around here was the addictive ‘Puyo Puyo’, and luckily we can add another one to the list: the ‘Super Street Fighter II’ from the Megadrive.
This has been made known to us by Capcom itself a few days ago, announcing it first for the Japanese territory, for which it will arrive shortly, and later to the United States and Europe, and also with the option of online games . Which is very welcome, of course.
They have not yet spoken about the price, but it is probably between 800 and 900 points, which amounts to between 8 and 9 euros. As soon as we know more about the subject, we will return to launch Ryu’s hadoken , but let’s see if the list of those with online mode increases from now on …
