Mikakus x Cupra Born: wearing two brands

Cupra strengthens its relationship with Mikakus, launching a new shoe model that is inspired by the Barcelona neighborhood of El Born, and whose design represents the spirit of progress of both brands. The Mikakus x Cupra Born sneakers, on sale now , are the result of a collaboration between the two brands to offer a piece of footwear based on a shared motto: ‘Follow your own impulse to get what you want’. This new creation respects the environment, in the same way that Cupra places special emphasis on sustainability, for example, through the use of recycled materials in the manufacture of its vehicles. This is irrefutable proof that design is not at odds with quality and comfort.

“This collection continues our collaboration with Mikakus, a sneaker brand that shares our vision of inspiring the world from Barcelona through exclusive and unconventional products,” said Antonino Labate , Global Director of Strategy, Business Development and Operations at Mikakus. Cupra. “The Mikakus x Cupra Born sneakers are further proof of our ambition to create a lifestyle universe inspired by our values, beyond the car itself.”

For his part, Mark Wieding , CEO of Mikakus, highlighted: “Having partners like Cupra means a lot to Mikakus. We are very proud of this collaboration and the new Mikakus x Cupra Born. Born in Barcelona, both brands share their ambition to promote the city and make things move. With this second collaboration, we introduce a new silhouette and a new concept for us, being unisex .”

The ECOLIVE canvas combines style and innovation. It is made from recycled, treated and rejuvenated textile materials, which give the footwear the best properties, making it resistant, flexible and water-repellent. In terms of design, there are many graphic details that it incorporates, such as the inscription on the back of the soles, which alludes to the Born’s tire size code, and the rear loop that refers to the seat belts. Also, Mikakus x Cupra Born are the brand’s first unisex shoes and are available in three colors : blue, black and khaki.

It is not the first collaboration of these two brands. “Using quality leather, neoprene and textile mix materials. The soles will be made of the latest generation EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) and high-frequency polyurethane film, to achieve really light footwear. In addition, we will incorporate the latest technology advanced to achieve maximum comfort”, they explained when launching two shoes whose color palette is inspired by the colors of the Formentor. Petrol Blue and Dark Aluminum details emulate the exterior of the Formentor. While the copper colored elements are a tribute to the Cupra logo.

The Mikakus x Cupra Paddock redefines the concept of design. With a knit upper, these shoes have an EVA sole that is both light and thick, providing maximum comfort thanks to its cushioning. They feature a lace-up fastening, a branded insole and tag to the rear, and premium finishes like metal eyelets and leather details. To buy the Paddock, visit the official website of the brand.
