Museo Confort by Citroën C4: the first museum on Instagram

Usually firms have their own spirit or try to find it quickly. That identity is what will make it a durable brand capable of building customer loyalty , whether we are talking about clothing or cars. Citroën knew its way decades ago and it has a lot to do with the people, the adventure, the competition and the freedom that mobility transmits. The French knew how to land the most pioneering technologies in vehicles within the reach of the vast majority, positioning themselves as the democratizer of comfort, technology and modularity. That fundamental pillar of its business philosophy continues to structure its decisions today, with such special and surprising launches as the @museodelconfort. This is the account of the first museum created on Instagram, by and for this platform, in which to engage in discussions and access the opinion of experts on trends in its rooms: Comfort, Technology, Electricity and Design .

The obsession of the chevron firm is to be up to date, at the order and service of the youngest users. Where are they found? On social media. For this reason, Citroën has launched a virtual gallery that responds to the changes in a society highly accustomed to digital evolution, even more so in the midst of a pandemic. The protagonist of this virtual museum is comfort and well-being , two key elements in the brand’s DNA. The collection compiles about 50 Spanish inventions that are part of our life and that, curiously, we do not usually identify as “Made in Spain” . It is, therefore, a wake-up call to a country that seems to be unaware of its value: its people, with their wonderful and creative minds.

Comfort Museum by New Citroën C4

The new C4 has been the perfect excuse to launch with an innovative and different project , if it weren’t for the fact that it is from Citroën. Paula Bartolomé, Citroën Communication Director, explained it this way to the press: “We are once again pioneers creating the first museum on an Instagram account and we join the new trends in a digital format that will surprise and is affordable for everyone ”. That the Citroën C4 is the protagonist only emphasizes the relationship that this manufacturer has with our country , being one of the many creations that will be seen in the account.

This museum will be divided into four rooms (Comfort, Technology, Electricity and Design) in which to discover inventions. In the Comfort room we will find answers to questions such as: Did you know that disposable syringes are Spanish? Manuel Jalón discovered them in 1970 and added it to his list of inventions along with the mop.

More curiosities

The minipimer also has Spanish nationality and was created by Gabriel Lluelles in 1960, as well as the first folding fan or the delicious ChupaChups by Enric Bernat (1959 ). In the design room we will meet Alejandro Finisterre, creator of table football or José Enrique Aranzábal, who thought about the need for a stapler.

The technology room has such important personalities as Emilio Herrero, the inventor of the first astronaut suit (1935) or Narciso Manturiol , who made the first submarine in 1859. The last room, electricity, welcomes Leonardo Torres Quevedo as inventor of the cable car in 1887 or Mónico Sánchez, creator of the portable X-ray machine in 1909.
