The RKI announces the number of cases of new corona infections, incidence and hospitalization in Germany – the data from Monday (11.10.2021) at a glance.
Frankfurt – The corona infection in Germany seems to be picking up speed again. The 7-day incidence is higher than it has been in more than two weeks. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Monday morning as 66.5.
For comparison: on Sunday (10/10/2021) the corona value was 66.1, a week ago it was 64.7 (previous month: 82.8). The health authorities in Germany reported 3111 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is evident from the figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:21 a.m. A week ago the value was 3088 infections.

Corona case numbers in Germany: Seven deaths in 24 hours
According to the new information, seven deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were also seven deaths. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-Cov-2 rose to 94,209.
The RKI has counted 4,313,384 detected infections with Sars-Cov-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected. The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,095,900.
Corona case numbers in Germany: Hospitalization incidence from Friday (October 8th, 2021)
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – the RKI last stated on Friday at 1.67. The comparative value of the previous week was about the same.
A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time. (jey / dpa)
