New season of the "Rosenheim Cops"

The ZDF sends the “Rosenheim Cops” into the next round. Fans of the long-running hit on Tuesday evening have reason to celebrate in the new season. At the same time, it is time to say goodbye to familiar faces.

Rosenheim – Right in the first episode of the new season, the “Rosenheim Cops” are confronted with violence that is rarely seen in the previous evening series on ZDF.

When Commissioner Eva Winter and her colleague Anton Stadler arrive at the crime scene, it is raining. Where else there is a sunny, idyllic alpine panorama, the two of them are out and about with umbrellas. Forensics has set up pavilions so that corpses and finds do not get wet.

But that’s basically all that is slightly different at the start of the new season on Tuesday on the traditional broadcast slot at 7.25 p.m. Otherwise it says in a familiar way: “There was a corpse!”: In the episode “Farmer Seeks Farmer”, Christian Porz was shot while working in the field. He actually wanted to take over the farm of a couple of farmers, had offered several competitors and probably achieved a lot for them. Is that where the motive lies?

The “Rosenheim Cops” are a long-running hit on ZDF and enjoy a large fan base even after the death of veteran Joseph Hannesschläger last year. The can celebrate an anniversary in the course of the 26 new episodes: The 500th episode is to be broadcast in January. According to a spokesman, as a normal episode of around 45 minutes in length, no special at prime time at 8:15 p.m.

It is already known that actress Vanessa Eckart alias Commissioner Winter will only be seen seven episodes. She then gets out – as does Sina Wilke, who portrays the pathologist Sandra Mai. She is seamlessly replaced by forensic doctor Ela Atay (Sevda Polat), who works with Commissioners Stadler (Dieter Fischer) and Sven Hansen (Igor Jeftić). A new commissioner is scheduled to start in January 2022. The spokesman did not reveal more.

There are also some temporary investigators. This is necessary because new episodes are filmed in parallel – a crew cannot be on several sets at the same time. Such changes are much discussed topics among die-hard fans in internet forums.

Little is happening with the main cast, however. And the “Rosenheim cops” remain true to each other in other respects as well: parallel to the murder case, the police station and the other characters are again occupied with several subsidiary lines. In the episode “Bauer sucht Bauer”, for example, there is confusion about an honorary coin, for which Police Director Gert Achtziger (Alexander Duda) is supposed to give a laudatory speech.

And Commissioner Winter teases her colleague Stadler, who would prefer to go to the witness questioning with an affluent belly: “Every course makes you slim,” she tries. “Yes, I don’t want to be so slim,” replies the investigator – but he goes along anyway. And is already looking forward to the roast pork that is supposed to be served to him in the evening: “I can refill my pillow.”

Stadler actor Fischer also regularly cuts his meals, as he revealed to the German press agency. However, voluntarily: with therapeutic fasting. Twice a year he tries to set his body to zero, among other things to recover from the stress of turning and irregular snacks at the catering, said the 50-year-old. “I call it vacation forte.” He doesn’t care about weight. dpa
