New Trailer For “No Sudden Move”: Steven Soderbergh's Star-studded Thriller

Warner Bros has already released the long-awaited first trailer for No Sudden Move , a police thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film will premiere first at the Tribeca festival on June 18 in the open air, in one of the newly refurbished venues to make events safer for all attendees to return. From what we can see in the preview, it is a story full of mystery under a star-studded cast: Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbor, Ray Liotta, Jon Hamm, Amy Seimetz, Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Noah Jupe, Craig MuMs Grant, Julia Fox, Frankie Shaw, and Bill Duke.

This film filmed during the pandemic is set in the Detroit of the 50s and in its official synopsis, how many low-class criminals are hired for a simple theft of documentation. As is characteristic of this type of film, everything will go horribly wrong, with which the dysfunctional group must find out who hired them and for what purpose in order to escape the mess they have gotten into. The trailer does not advance the story excessively (something unusual today), however it seems that we are seeing a Martin Scorsese production but edited by the Soderbergh.

As for the characters, it seems that both Cheadle and del Toro will be the leaders of the band , while Kieran Culkin acts as the rookie who meddles in their plans. On the other hand, Jon Hamm will be the policeman who chases the group in this story. Along with the statement accompanying the news of the premiere, Soderbergh was very happy after going through, like the entire industry, a complicated 2020: “A year ago I was locked up in Tribeca, so I never imagined that we could return 12 months later with a new movie screening for a live audience in our neighborhood. I’m very happy”. No Sudden move will premiere on HBO Max on July 1 , with the simultaneous strategy planned by Warner. Will it be one of the big productions of the awards season?
