Roger Federer has officially confirmed that he is leaving Roland Garros . The Swiss hinted at it after his match on Saturday, but has made the decision on his rest day because he is not physically well and does not want to jeopardize his participation in Wimbledon.
The last match played by Roger Federer , on Saturday night, lasted three and a half hours against Dominik Kopefer and was decided in four sets, which ended up exhausting the Swiss tennis player. He suffered discomfort in his right knee and on Sunday morning when he woke up he considered that he was not able to continue competing in a tournament as demanding as Roland Garros.
The Swiss started Roland Garros with the idea of continuing to recover sensations in preparation for Wimbledon. Roger Federer reached the last 16 of the legendary French tournament but finally he will not be measured against Berrettini , so the Italian will go to the next round.
