On this Sunday summer is a rendezvous. After that, however, it continues rather mixed.
Offenbach (dpa) – After a cool start to May, people in many regions of Germany can look forward to a summery day this Sunday.
Even in the coastal regions it will be pleasantly mild with values between 19 and 25 degrees, said the German Weather Service (DWD) on Saturday in Offenbach. “On the Upper Rhine the temperature is even scratching the hot threshold of 30 degrees.”
In the west and northwest, however, dense cloud fields are likely to appear again and again. Deep “Hubertus” could also bring some rain there. Due to the clouds, the temperatures hardly go back on Monday night.
From the beginning of the week, the summer weather should be over again, as a cold front is moving into the country from the west. From the Saarland to the Lower Rhine, the temperatures will then be five to ten degrees lower than on Sunday, the meteorologists expect. In the eastern half of Germany, the summer warmth is still holding up a little, but the first strong, perhaps even severe thunderstorms could occur. On Tuesday, the May summer will increasingly be over in the east as well. Under the influence of low pressure, temperatures across Germany are expected to level off between 14 and 20 degrees during the day and 3 to 10 degrees at night. In doing so, it becomes inconsistent.
