The signature of the ray has taken the 2020-2021 academic year very seriously. It began its journey with the Opel Mokka-e, which was presented in its electric variant and which showed the change in the design language of the PSA group firm. Now it not only depends on the French group, but on the Stellantis conglomerate formed after the acquisition of FCA by the Gauls. Even so, the new Opel Grandland does not owe its transformation to such business changes. The most familiar of the German SUV’s introduces in its latest restyling the aesthetic winks already seen in that Mokka and, finally, in the new Opel Astra. We are talking about the front Opel Vizor, based on the legendary Opel Manta, and the minimalist Opel Pure Panel dashboard. This is a notable evolution in its image, which also includes new features in the equipment section but few firsts in the mechanical section.
The Opel Grandland will continue to stand out in the Opel portfolio for its familiar and comfortable character, pillars that it continues to maintain in this facelift. For this, it is one of the most spacious models in its segment but also one of the most expensive. There are alternatives such as the cheaper Kia Sportage, Citroën C5 Aircross or Ford Kuga, and even their PHEV variants stand out for price above other options such as the Peugeot 3008 or the Cupra Formentor. However, and after the aesthetic evolution, it can be one of the familiar SUVs to consider for our garage.
Especially for the qualitative leap inside, which includes the Pure Panel format that we liked so much in the Mokka and that also feels phenomenal to the lightning utility. It is a dashboard made up of two 12-inch screens for the instrumentation (standard) and up to 10 inches for the central , compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As for the engines, few changes presents the new Grandland. It has lost the X of its previous name, and incidentally some combinations of engines, but it retains the plug-in hybrid versions. They join a diesel version of 131 hp, a gasoline of the same power (131 hp) and the two PHEVs of 224 and 300 hp , the latter with all-wheel drive.
