Before the end of 2020 we will talk about the new Peugeot 3008, which was presented with its older brother the Peugeot 5008 . This large SUV offers room for seven seats and a trunk capable of carrying a move. It is the ideal option for large families who have a considerable garage and a fixation on traveling by car, an environment in which it defends itself wonderfully for its ride comfort. The 5008 was presented in 2017 and this update comes to maintain a homogeneous image among the SUVs of the lion’s firm. It maintains the same engines as before but the interior multimedia system is larger (10 inches) in the top-of-the-range versions. In addition, equipment items can be added to the already known levels: Active, Allure and GT . Its starting price is 28,800 euros for the 131 hp gasoline engine.

What has changed in 5008?
The new Peugeot 5008 changes in very few ways but it is visible with the naked eye. The front is completely different, despite following the same previous design language. The feeling is that everything is linked together, from the headlights to the grille and also the lower bumper. The grille has lost its chrome frame so that, on the sides, its slats are lengthened to fit under the light clusters. These headlights are also new, with a tear that is even more reminiscent of a feline . The vertical daytime running lights that have collected so much praise and that imitate the fang of a lion are preserved.
The GT and GT pack versions sport a different grille design, more sporty and marked. The Black Pack, which is optional, provides the 19-inch wheels in black and the chrome also become black. To the equipment levels present so far ( Active, Allure and GT ), equipment packages called Pack can be added. Also new are the Nappa Mistral upholstery, the Nappa in red, a synthetic leather fabric combined with Alcantara for the GTs and another synthetic leather fabric for the Allure.
The owner of the road
This Peugeot 5008 has competition between generalist models such as the Skoda Kodiaq , Seat Tarraco or the Mitsubishi Outlander, which are cheaper. Its strengths lie in the elegant and daring design, which the 3008 introduced three years ago and which has earned it parallel purchases for its functionality, as well as the comfort it offers on the move. Practicality is its spearhead , with a rear bench (the second) that can move 15 centimeters and recline the backrests. The decision not to add a plug-in hybrid option as it does in the Peugeot 3008 is surprising but, at the same time, it makes all the sense in the world. The 5008 is a car for travel, not for city driving. This type of technology is useful to be able to make short trips, of up to 55 kilometers , in 100% electric mode. An unusual situation in a car as big as the 5008. We are talking then of two gasoline engines, 131 and 181 hp , and two diesel engines with the same powers . All of them are front-wheel drive and there is the option of incorporating the EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission, if they are not a 6-speed manual .
