Technology advances more and more. This is used by hackers and cybercriminals to create new scams that circulate on the net and on our mobile phones. Every week, the members of the National Police, through their communications and their official profiles on social networks, report any new scam that circulates through the Internet or SMS, the last one that the police has detected has been one related to the Direct Line company. It is a new form of scams that agents call smishing and that tries to obtain the user’s data to obtain data such as bank accounts, or security keys and thus have economic returns. In this new scam detected by the National Police, cybercriminals send an SMS to the mobile phone and in the message inform us about the Línea Directa company and some of its advantages. Obviously a link appears where the user clicks and download a supposed documentation. This documentation is the key for hackers to obtain the information they want. Once we click on that link, victims will have to download an alternative program to read said documentation, so a Trojan will be downloaded that will take over our personal data, so valuable to cybercriminals.
