Prepare your punches and kicks: Lost Judgment will make us distribute justice in Yokohama from September on consoles

It had been leaked by the Japanese PlayStation Store and it has finally been confirmed. Lost Judgment is the name of the new installment of the spin-off of the Yakuza series. Through a direct dedicated to the announcement, Sega has shown gameplay of the title and commented on numerous details.

Once again, we will regain control of Takayuki Yagami , our ex-lawyer turned detective from the streets of Kamurocho . As in the 2019 title for PS4, we will once again have to unravel a case full of suspense and with murders included.

The executive director of the Yakuza franchise, Toshihiro Nagoshi , explained that this time it will be about how Yagami faced the consequences of a guilty verdict handed down in a Japanese court. After that, a crime will involve a local institute , which will allow new mechanics and scenarios to be explored.

One of the most interesting additions has to do with the Yokohama area, which the studio has taken particular care to recreate in detail. A multitude of activities and tasks will be available in this area.

One of the questions that remained in the air was whether this sequel would adopt the turn-based RPG format of Yakuza: Like a Dragon or continue to opt for unbridled action. It is enough to see the game shown to know the answer, with brutal and agile movements on the part of the protagonist.

We will have two styles of combat, one more reactive to the blows of the enemies, being able to carry out counterattacks and another much more devastating, being able to send several enemies to fly at the same time. Incidentally, Nagoshi has confirmed on IGN that the two game series will be distinguished on this particular point.

Investigation capabilities have also been further developed, allowing us new functions for spying, stealth stalking or even parkour and climbing areas that will give us access to new places.

With a release scheduled for September 24 , Lost Judgment is coming worldwide for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
