Fabio Quartararo prevailed in the Doha MotoGP Grand Prix repeating Maverick’s strategy last week. The two Yamahas started badly again but they went back little by little, without making great efforts not to wear the tires excessively. In the last laps he took the lead and was pulling until he crossed the finish line as first in the last lap, with Johann Zarco and Jorge Martín second and third. The rookie Jorge Martín surprised everyone in qualifying and took pole. Ducati had already shown its potential in the first race at this Losail circuit. Jorge Martín already showed what he was capable of starring in one of the great comebacks at the start in what was his first MotoGP test, he started fourteenth and placed fourth in the first corner. Viñales ended up imposing but today was the day of the Pramac Racing driver, the man on the pole came out like a missile and started shooting from the start. Oliveira and the Suzukis also made a good start with Rins fifth and Mir sixth. Aleix Espargaró placed third, while Viñales was ninth. Rins did not take long to pass Oliveira, Mir overtook him shortly after but ended up losing the position. 19 laps from the end, he finally overtook him again, while his teammate Rins fought with Zarco for second place. Martin continued his work, leading the race and getting dirt in between with his pursuers. It came out like a missile and began to distance itself from its rivals. Rins passed Zarco and approached Jorge Martín but shortly after the Frenchman surpassed him again. This series of overtaking benefited the leader. The Suzuki man did everything well but the area of the straight arrived and Zarco took advantage of the top speed of the Ducati to regain second position.Quartararo launches the attack The Spanish rider was very comfortable leading the race, as if he had been a lifetime in MotoGP when it is his second race in the premier class. Rins could not with Zarco and in the end he ended up giving up the third position with Pecco Bagnaia. Behind Viñales and Quartararo began to appear 11 laps to go. The winner of the season’s first grand prix was not having his day, this time it was his teammate, Fabio Quartararo, who was repeating the strategy that led Mack to victory. First he won the battle against Rins for fourth place and quickly surpassed Miller, although the joy was short-lived because on the straight he lost position again. The Australian was about to be sanctioned after a touch with Joan Mir, who after said action began to lose positions. Finally, the race management decided to leave the action of the Ducati rider unpunished.Quartararo continued his work and managed to win the battle with the Ducati to place second and go for Jorge Martín. With 5 laps remaining, the French managed to pass the Spanish who lost the first position for the first time in the entire grand prix. Martín overtook him again on the straight before the finish line, but the Yamaha player immediately gave it back to him. That last overtaking was decisive, the French had pace to take the victory and lap after lap was putting a few tenths to the Spanish. The victory seemed decided, it only remained to decide who accompanied him on the podium. Viñales ended up falling to fifth position after being overtaken by Rins.Zarco and Martín were fighting for second position on the podium. Finally the Frenchman passed him on the last lap and the Spaniard ended up falling to third position and signed his first podium in MotoGP in his second race. In addition, Zarco, is placed as world leader after the most even race in history.
