The fourth Corona wave does not stop at the travel plans of the Royals. Queen Máxima’s planned state visit falls through the water.

The Hague – In recent months, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (50) has been drawn into the distance again and again. In Rome she took part in the G20 summit, in Dubai she visited the Expo. As reported by 24royal.de *, her next trip should start in a few days, but the rising corona numbers put Máxima’s travel bug to an abrupt end.

To protect against infection, the Dutch regent couple canceled an important state visit. In mid-December, King Willem-Alexander * (54) and Queen Máxima * actually wanted to travel to Greece for three days, but now they have to refuse the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou (65). As the palace announced in a short press release, the trip was postponed from December 13th to 15th in consultation with Sakellaropoulou. It has not yet been determined when the official visit can be made up for.

Only a few days ago, the Netherlands tightened its corona rules and, among other things, imposed an evening lockdown. Like Germany, the country is fighting against the fourth wave.
