Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric: with 218 hp and front-wheel drive

Electric platforms completely change the paradigm of car manufacturing. Its structure, much simpler, allows you to play with the dimensions of the car and its design with the most varied shapes. For example, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has launched the CMF EV platform , which is responsible for structuring the Nissan Ariya . That same architecture is the one that the future Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric will use, presented during the Munich show. This meeting, which will be combined biannually with the Paris Motor Show , will take over from the classic Frankfurt Motor Show with a hybrid concept between digitization and face-to-face stands. The signature of the rhombus did not want to miss and its presence has not left us indifferent, with the launch of a car that promises to make people talk.

The Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric uses a 60 kWh battery (useful) that will give it 470 kilometers of autonomy (WLTP) and a power of 218 CV . Of course, unlike with the Volkswagen ID.4, its traction is front and the engine block is concentrated under the hood. It is a platform that supports all-wheel drive but, for now, we have not seen it in the compact option of the French firm. I speak of compact but we are not facing a model of that segment, since it drinks from the crossover aesthetic to compete with other rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz EQA, Cupra Born or Ford Mustang Mach-E, among others.

On the occasion of this launch, the firm has planted the new shield on its front. It is a more minimalist logo, classic but modern at the same time, which represents very well the energy transition we are experiencing. An electrification that has modified the concept of the Mégane, which used to be a car for young people wanting to learn to drive and enjoy themselves. Of course, despite the introduction of a zero-emission engine, the firm assures that they have taken those sensations into account when finishing the structure and chassis. They have not been cut in the technological section, with a dashboard featuring two panoramic screens, and an infotainment system signed by the giant Google. We tell you more in the gallery.
