Germany is still in the middle of the omicron wave. The RKI once again reports six-digit new corona infections. An overview.
Frankfurt/Berlin – The Robert Koch Institute has published the current number of corona cases in Germany. According to RKI data from Friday night (February 12, 2022), there were 209,789 new infections with Sars-CoV-2. The institute gave the 7-day incidence value as 1474.3.
This value thus once again reached a new high. On Friday, the RKI had reported a value of 1472.2. 198 new deaths related to the disease Covid-19 and infections with the coronavirus were added to the statistics. In total, 119,877 people have died in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic.

- Corona incidence in the district of Eichstätt (Bavaria): 3853.0
- Corona incidence in the district of Barnim (Brandenburg): 2773.0
- Corona incidence in the district of Offenbach (Hesse): 2637.8
- Corona incidence in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen (Bavaria): 2586.7
- Corona incidence in the district of Regen (Bavaria): 2584.3
Despite the high number of cases, virologist Hendrik Streeck calls for corona easing: Politicians should “no longer make a difference between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated”. (do)
