We have spent a lot of time in front of the screen, playing with friends and meeting many new ones. GTA V has given us so many hours that we only have words of thanks to Rockstar for the fantastic world they have offered us.
One of the best sections has been the multiplayer, GTA Online, which allows us to explore Los Santos and its surroundings doing all kinds of outrages. Now, eight years after its launch, the company has decided to end this adventure by shutting down the servers for PS3 and Xbox 360.
That’s right, through a statement it has announced that it will be next December 16, 2021 when all online activity will cease . This means that we will no longer be able to connect to this mode and the Shark Cards will no longer be available for purchase from September 16 on Sony and Microsoft consoles.
Rockstar itself warns that “these changes are strictly for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online “, which will have no impact on the adventures of Trevor, Michael and Franklin.
In addition, both Max Payne 3 and LA Noire will also be affected by this closure, preventing us from tracking our statistics on the company website and playing online. In these last two titles, the blackout will occur on September 16 itself.
All this in favor of the team having more time to offer support to the versions of PS4, Xbox One and PC . Recall that the premiere of GTA Online on the new generation of PS5 and Xbox Series X / S will arrive in November. If you did not transfer your progress to the last generation consoles at the time, all the content obtained will disappear.
