The new and first trailer for Ron Gives Error is now available. It is the premiere in theaters of the English animation studio Locksmith animation. The film is directed by Jean-Philippe Vine, one of the designers Cars 3 and Arlo’s Journey . The co-founder of Locksmith, Sarah Smith along with Octavio Rodríguez (in charge of the artistic part of Coco and The Incredibles 2 ) will be the co-directors of this film about the friendship of a boy and his defective robot.
The script is written by Peter Baynham, who signed the sequel to Borat, and the studio’s co-founder, Julie Lockhart. The cast of Ron gives error includes the voices of Zach Galifianakis being the robot Ron and Jack Dylan Grazer giving life to the boy protagonist, Barney. The rest of the voice cast is completed by Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner and Thomas Barbusca.
The official synopsis of the story tells how Barney, a high school student with few friends and Ron, his new robotic device to walk, talk and be digitally connected all the time. But the robot will arrive defective and with several problems that will prevent its proper functioning. Ron is socially broken, just like the protagonist and together they will accept the true and wonderful mess of true friendship.
20th Century Fox released the first trailer and poster of Ron makes a mistake right on Best Friend’s Day, since friendship is the main theme of the film. The context and world of this story is presented by the announcement of those known as Bots or best new friends of humanity. These robotic beings are connected to the internet and they do not stop playing and following their companions and owners. The role of these robots represents that of technology and mobiles, but with the now classic association between child and creature that we have already seen so many times in How to Train Your Dragon or in ET the Extraterrestrial . The preview leaves funny scenes derived from Ron’s dysfunction and how Ron seems to help him to integrate in some way with other teenagers. The film will open in theaters on October 22.
