The top of mind concept comes directly from the advertising sector and identifies products that are at the top of the ladder for the general public. For example, if you ask a European to name a brand of soft drink, he will most likely call you Coca-Cola. We are talking about brands that manage to be a benchmark and that even give the impression of being the only one that exists.
In the case of Seat, the top of mind is the León, the best-selling model in Spain in 2019 and a benchmark for the buyer. Hence, the launch of its next generation raises so many expectations. Expectations that the brand is responsible for feeding by filtering, little by little, information to the specialized press. The new Seat León 2020 is almost here, but for now we have only some parts of the car. The latest to be shown has been its lighting , an aspect in which the firm has worked intensively to exceed all the proposed standards. An evolution that will improve its exterior design, blending with the more sinuous lines of its bodywork, but also providing a certain sophistication.
A design with a strong personality
Alejando Mesonero, Seat’s design director, talks about the future León as a project in which they have prioritized simplicity and determination . His reasoning is as follows: “ Simplicity, because at SEAT we believe that most things can be said in just a few lines. Determination and strength, because those are some of the attributes that make our vehicles recognizable and seductive at first glance ”. Mesonero works the shapes of the body with a very specific objective: that the light makes the vehicle a being in motion. Since his appointment as director of the design department, he has tried to vary the body tones depending on the impact of the exterior lighting, achieving a three-dimensional approach.
At first glance, the rear of the new Leon anticipates a strong personality with a beam of LED light that runs along the entire tailgate joining the two rear light groups. Lights that adapt the triangular design of the front lighting signature, greatly reducing its surface compared to the current ones. The rear looks more forceful and the horizontal line is located under a spoiler that will undoubtedly give it a coupe silhouette. The indicators will be dynamic, a trend that we can already see in other VAG group models such as Audi.
Presentation on January 28
The fourth generation of the Seat León, which will be presented in a few days, will not only debut an exterior lighting signature, it will also improve its interior lighting. While the headlights will be powered by full LED technology , the doors will greet you by projecting a salute to the ground. Once inside the future Leon, the ambient light will be activated, welcoming the driver and passengers like never before. The aim of this lighting, spread over the dashboard and doors, is to create an enveloping and relaxing sensation. Surely it can be modified by the users of the Lion.
There is very little left for the official presentation of this bestseller, a vehicle that has accumulated years as the best-selling vehicle in Spain. Its evolution is a constant with each new generation, so expectations are high for next January 28 .
